Advisory meetings
Student Academic Progress Meetings with Field Director
You will have regular 1:1 meetings with the Field Director (currently every 6 months) to review your performance including course grades, case logs, and written and verbal feedback from course coordinators. You also have the chance to discuss any academic or personnel issues, as well as course feedback.
The content of these meetings is strictly confidential and any feedback regarding the courses or the program will be relayed back to the relevant instructor/ curriculum committee in an anonymized fashion.
The Field Director and Medical Director will also jointly hold regular townhall meetings with all students (currently every 1.5 months) to discuss matters relevant to all students.
Professional and Career Development Meetings with Clinical/Education Coordinator
You will have regular 1:1 meetings with the Clinical/Education Coordinator (currently once a year) to discuss professional and career planning issues. You will complete the Professional and Career Development form in advance to discuss in the meeting.
The content of these meetings is strictly confidential and any feedback will be relayed back to the relevant individual in an anonymized fashion.
Student Mentoring Programs
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology has formal student mentoring programs across all graduate programs, including peer-to-peer and alumni-to-student mentoring - participation is voluntary.
