Postdoctoral research fellowships are an integral part of our research-intensive department.
If you have completed, or are expecting to complete, PhD, MD, or MD/PhD studies, you can contact potential supervisors directly about conducting a postdoctoral research fellowship.
You will be mentored by our faculty members during your transition from PhD and/or MD studies to an independent career in research and related fields within the academic, governmental, or private sector.
The central part of your research fellowship training is the successful completion of an exciting research project under the guidance of a faculty member, culminating into publications that help prepare and propel you into an independent career as a scientist or clinician-scientist.
You will benefit from the breadth and depth of LMP, which also provides great opportunities to interact with additional mentors, scientists and clinicians within:
You will be supported by your respective faculty member and/or various fellowship awards from funding bodies such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). You will coordinate with your faculty member supervisor to apply for such external awards.
The Wolfgang Vogel Memorial Award is a prestigious travel award given to meritorious Postdoctoral Fellows in LMP who present their research at national or international scientific meetings.
