A 51-year-old male with a history of type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia presents with increasing fatigue, mild abdominal discomfort, and occasional bloating. He denies jaundice, confusion, or lower extremity edema. Labs show mildly elevated AST and ALT with normal bilirubin, INR, and albumin. Abdominal ultrasound reveals coarsened liver echotexture, mild splenomegaly, and no ascites. FibroScan indicates mild fibrosis. A liver biopsy was performed.
