Dr. Greenfeld (Kolomietz) is the Director of the Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory and Co-Head of the Division of Diagnostic Medical Genetics in Mount Sinai Hospital's Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine.
Dr. Greenfeld's area of expertise is in the clinical utility of genomic technologies in reproductive medicine, including prenatal and perinatal diagnosis.
Her research areas of interest include early prenatal diagnosis using fetal cells and the etiology of reproductive failure.
Research Synopsis
The major focus of my research is the development and application of genomic technologies to the understanding of the causes of reproductive failure.
Identification and characterization of copy number variation in infertile patients, prenatal and perinatal samples provide insight into the mechanisms that cause infertility and abnormal embryonic and fetal development.
My research area of interest also includes early prenatal diagnosis using fetal cells.
