Dr. Lee Goneau completed his doctoral training in the department of microbiology and immunology at Western University. Following his graduate studies, he completed a postdoctoral training program in clinical microbiology at the University of Toronto and became a Fellow of the Canadian College of Microbiologists.

Since 2019, Dr. Goneau has been working as the National Director of Microbiology at Dynacare where he has led numerous initiatives, including implementation of SARS-CoV-2 testing, expanding the laboratory’s molecular diagnostics portfolio, and leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and informatics to improve quality and patient care.

Research synopsis

Dr. Goneau’s research interests include new test development, the evaluation of emerging diagnostic technologies and methodologies, optimization and integration of high-volume testing solutions, laboratory utilization and stewardship, and leveraging informatics and artificial intelligence for improvements in quality management and test performance.
