Each month we speak to a member of the Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology community and find out more about them as part of an initiative from our Wellness, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Committee (WIDE).

I am doing a Master's in Translational Research. I chose this topic because I am involved in research activities in Anesthesia Education, my actual field, and wanted to go deep into this matter in order to improve my skills in it.
I love the concept of Ideation Key created by Joseph Ferenbok. It prompts one to get ideas from daily life needs. In addition, the concept of the Ideation Clinic to discuss ideas in progress to achieve changes and innovation is highly valuable from my perspective.
I believe it was a recent conversation with a friend that situated myself in my strengths and profile. This friend enlightened me about the role I am currently fitting in, named clinician-researcher.
Something truly important I heard and discussed in my Master's classes is the essentiality of keeping up with a growth mindset. The most valuable recent learning point I had is that we need to pursue growth all the time, without fearing to fail and sharpening ourselves by internalizing the feedback we receive throughout our lives.
I was a lot influenced by a person I consider my mentor nowadays: my research coordinator. He was the one that even recommended me to the Translational Research Master program.
I believe one of my strengths that would surprise people in contact with me is my resilience power. I understand that one cannot succeed without perseverance and understanding that life is a long marathon which makes winners those ones who do not give up early.
I love staying with my family. I have a 3-year-old son who is so much fun. My wife and I are also waiting for another boy who is coming next month. I am very excited to live this other phase of my life.
For a favourite band I like foo fighters a lot. A remarkable film to me is Forest Gump. And a novel, I would say the trilogy of the century by Ken Follet.
I’d love to have a dinner with Angela Merkel; her leadership and governance is something that calls my attention a lot.
My favorite place is a beach house my family usually goes to get together and spend fun times. Usually our New Year holiday we go to this house and stay there relaxing for some time. It is located on the coast of Sao Paulo, in Brazil.
Interesting question. I think I would like to have a phone to connect with my family and a sports channel on tv to watch my favourite matches.
